With valuable points on offer in the ASP LQS Womens Pro the semi finals were always going to be a hotly fought affair. Semi 1 saw 16 yr old Michaela Ross eliminated when she was out-maneuvered by Georgia Young (WA) and Emma Webb (Vic). Semi 2 went right down to the final 15 seconds when Claire Norman (NSW) was eliminated by Jade Foster (WA) who finished 2nd to Nava Young who led from the start.

Taylor Jensen (USA) picked up from where he left off yesterday with an opening ride of 7.67 to set the benchmark for the rest of the competitors to chase. Lindsay Small (WA) and former Australian Champion Justin Redman (WA) both followed up with good opening rides but couldn't match Jensen's well executed maneuvers and had to settle for 2nd & 3rd respectively. Big wave charger Dan Corbett couldn't get the right waves and frustration saw Corbett involved in the wrong end of an interference call. Current WA State Champion Rahn Goddard and Australian Title holder Dane Pioli (NSW) proved a class ahead of their fellow semi finalists Patrick O'Leary and Marlenn Guihot to progress though to the final.

The men's final was held in a dropping swell with wave selection extremely crucial. Some waves had good long walls and no power while other smaller waves allowed for more critical turns. At the half way mark Taylor Jensen had established a good lead over Rahn Goddard while Dane Pioli and Lindsay Small both needed a combo score to go to the lead. Jensen easily defended his early lead and it became a battle between Bahen and Pioli for 2nd & 3rd.

Mack Hall Real Estate Men's winner Taylor Jensen said "this place reminds me of home its a lot of Santa Cruz, California." he then spoke of his winning strategy, "I wanted two quick waves as I knew the tide was dropping quickly" Jensen continued I have had a great time here this is an insane event".

West Australian Georgia Young broke though for her first ASP win when she scored the two highest scoring rides of the final to head off Jensen's girl friend Nava Young in the Womens final. With the wave quality becoming very patchy with the dropping tide Georgia Young used every ounce of local knowledge to select her two winning rides.

Titles were won and a multitude of waves were scored and surfed with the best two surfers on the day taking out the blue ribbon event titles.
